Cheque!!! what is a cheque?!

No acknowledgement email to confirm my claim has been received. No comms confirming that a cheque has been sent. And finally a CHEQUE! what century is this to send cheques?! Apparently, my cheque was posted to me three weeks ago, but no sign of it. To send me a new cheque, Equipsme need to wait two weeks to make sure the first one is not cashed. So it's been over a month now and it looks like it will be another month before I will be reimbursed. Outrageous! I would highly recommend your Finance/Product/Technology department to look into bank transfers as an alternative to cheques.

Thank you for leaving a review Oksana. We’re obviously disappointed that it’s only a two-star rating but we do acknowledge this process needs improvement. Unfortunately, cheques for Dental & Optical claims are issued by AXA Health, our health insurance provider.

We have been pressing AXA Health for some time now to move these Dental & Optical claims settlements to a bank transfer process. AXA Health are aware of this issue and have recently committed to change the process for all our members.

We do not have a delivery date for this change at the moment as there are claims, finance and IT processes that need changing which can take some time update. However, AXA Health have reassured us that this process will change.

We provide Equipsme policies to all our UK based staff, and they love it.

Not only do they love it, they use it!
With the current strain on the NHS, having this access to health care has helped several of our team with their health issues.

Fast referral and health back-up when you need it

I've had an Equipsme plan for a while now, and I've made a claim twice - both times when I was getting nowhere with the NHS. Both times the online GP service has referred me to a consultant, and both times I've had an appointment within days, and got sorted out really, really quickly. It's easy, it's fast, and it's been there exactly when I needed it. Right now, with the NHS struggling as it is, I would hate to be without it.

GP appointment made easy

After struggling to get hold of my NHS GP I was relieved to have the Equipsme plan as a back up.
I contacted the GP line explained why I wanted to see a doctor and was able to get an appointment booked the following morning.
The doctor called promptly at the arranged time and as a result of the consultation sent a prescription to my local pharmacy.
It was so easy to access a GP and the medication I needed.

I have also used the nurse helpline a couple of times (I have used this like an alternative to 111) for queries when my young daughter has been ill and the advise and support and advice offered by the nurse has really helped me when I have need it.

Not very intuitive

I'm finding this system convoluted and not very intuitive. Earlier in the year I had to chase up a GP referral which never materialised. I finally got it, but by that point (6 mo later) I'd kind of given up! Especially when the next steps were prolonged, confusing and convoluted.

Latterly I've been trying to attempt to sort something else out. But I'm finding the members portal quite impenetrable. If I could get to the bottom of this process, I'd dearly love to write them an 'easy guide' flow chart for members like me to understand the process, and with simple steps to following through with appointments and referrals.

Previously having had BUPA where just one phone call is needed with a reference number given, this set up is convoluted, and a few times I have simply just given up paid elsewhere privately. Which defeats the object of the cover really.

As they are linked to AXA, I was a bit surprised. I briefly had AXA cover years ago, but cancelled quite quickly for similar reasons - lots of admin, complex caveats, and in that case years ago, a very misleading booking experience.

If you guys could simplify the process, this customer would be much happier.

So far, I'm kind of disappointed.

It is certainly not our experience that the GP service would take this long to provide you with an open referral. We know that our GP service partner would also want to investigate and follow-up on such a long delay, would you provide us with details of when you first made contact with them (i.e. dates/times), please email it to us at members@equipsme.com. We will then ask our GP service partner to track down any recorded calls and investigate this for you.

Regarding the ease of use of the members portal, your experience isn’t typical based on other members feedback. We designed it to be intuitive so that the first screen our members are presented with has one-click access to contact numbers and online forms for accessing benefits. One phone call or claim submission form is all it takes and then the chosen benefit provider will be back in touch with you.

When contacting us regarding the GP service, please feel free to provide us with any specific feedback about how we can simplify the process even further for the benefit of all our members.

Quick, reliable service. Really like that family can be added to the plan. Done the personalised health check, this was sent through the post with speedy results. All services used have been easily accessed via the mobile app.

This has been a real lifeline in COVID

24-7 GP service gives great peace of mind, especially with a newborn. This has been a real lifeline in COVID when I haven't been able to quickly visit my own GP. I have also used the dental and optical cover, it was really easy to claim. I took a photo of my receipt on the mobile app and quickly received payment for my new glasses. The app was really easy to use and navigate.

Treatment of investors in Equipsme.

Invested in a seed funding of the company on Seedrs. Hours after closing the round and raising more than 250K plus over 800K via CrowdCube 2 months before this, the owner of the company puts a note that the already invested 2 years ago VC will change their shares to preferred plus with 15% interest with preference on future exit 1.7-2.5 times. In the last comment same ceo stated that the company is "no niggles" type of environment... Certainly trust this same management who does a difference between small seed investors who invested approximately 1 million and VC who invested 1 million as well. Obviously very nice to announce the news only when and after collecting from seed funding over gbp 1m. At least I have been lucky to get this as info during cooling of period, but go ask Crowdcube investors - they a certainly very very happy. "Professional" attitude, bravo, go and trust them to insure you...

This relates to a personal investment of you made on the Seedrs crowdfunding platform. Seedrs wrote to all prospective investors and explained the terms of the investment so we have done nothing wrong here. You later exercised your right to cancel during the cooling off period and we haven’t taken a penny from you.

We will continue providing a great service for all our members – most of which rate our service with 4 or 5 stars. We also have some great customer case studies on our website that reflects the priority we place on customer satisfaction.

I also had a head injury during lockdown and used the virtual GP system. I think it is very good value considering what you get for it.

As an SME business we had been looking at various companies to provide us with a cost effective solution for our employees well being. Equipsme has proven to be a cost effective medical insurance that is flexible for both the business and more importantly our employees well being. It was a simple process to get the product set up and easy for staff to add family members on if they wished. Help and assistance is only a phone call away if any problems. Not had to make a claim yet but hopefully that process will be as simple. The stress support addition was particularly attractive as a simple low cost addition.

A straightforward healthcare solution

We have always found employee healthcare schemes to be expensive and complicated. Equipsme is a complete contrast to the traditional model and is a straightforward solution with competitive prices. The on-boarding process was extremely easy and our staff appreciate the benefits. The stress support bolt-on was of particular appeal to us. Also, the fact that levels of cover can be easily varied means employee loyalty can be rewarded.
