The Gender Clinic at 70 Harley Street Avis 

All the team were absolutely brilliant from start to finish: the communications with the PA are concise and clear helping ease the beginning process, the appointment (if via video call) was professional but comfortable - when talking in depth of the difficult topics they are respectful and understanding

My psychiatry session with Dr Streeruwitz went very well, she put me at my ease and carefully explained the process of diagnosis and hormone therapy. Her write up of my answers was accurate and she accurately described my symptoms of gender dysphoria.

I had a good consultation with Dr Coulter. The event itself was stressful because of the expense (£500 is a lot for one session, and follow-up sessions at £350 only adds additional anxiety). Moreover, I do not believe that there should be medical gatekeeping for access to treatment (beyond a minimal legal competency check for informed consent).

However, I do value psychological perspectives on my trans identity and in the current medical system (for which I do not hold service providers responsible) the Gender Clinic provides something especially useful, which I might well have wanted even had I not been obligated to do so. Moreover, the assessment was conducted respectfully and professionally, with an emphasis on confidentiality.

Overall I would highly recommend Dr Coulter and this clinic.

Firstly, I must thank the clinic as it was their referral that got me started on my own transition journey, and without the appointment I would be stuck waiting for the slow NHS.

However, at £500 for 1 hour of consultation, I hoped that I might have been treated with a little more respect for all the nuances that make up trans people's identities. Being asked questions about very specific gender roles, toys you played with, what you're wearing - I felt a lot like I was trying to be caught out and had to fit a very specific vision of a trans person that I maybe didn't feel in myself.

This was compounded by the fact that if the clinic decided I needed a follow up review, it would cost an extra £350. There was a lot of stress that went into that short meeting, and £500 was already expensive to be put in such an awkward position as I was. Thankfully, I didn't need a second consultation, but I couldn't help feeling like I wasn't living up to the clinic's expectations of trans identity when I should be living up to my own.

I have met with Dr Khalid twice now; once at the beginning of hormone treatment and then just very recently for surgery referral.
Is it cheap, well no.
But does it allow people to ensure they have the right conversations in their lives, when so many of the "standard institutions" are failing in this regard, well absolutely yes.
As others have said, i felt very much listened to, even things i hadn't even myself truly realised i was saying, made to feel at ease in what is ultimately an intimate and yet formal assessment, and then all is acted on without any undue delay.
Life-changing stuff, in a good way.

I had an appointment with Dr Khalid for a gender dysphoria diagnosis and referral for HRT.
My experience of the online appointment was very good, with Dr Khalid being understanding and clear in her questions.
While on the more expensive side (£500 for the first appointment at time of writing), the wait time for me to get an appointment was reasonable (~1 month), and I was able to get an official diagnosis at the first appointment.
My only gripe about the process would be that they needed to verify your experiences with someone who has known you well for a long time. While not an issue for me, it felt a bit weird and could potentially be a problem if you don't have any supportive close relatives.

Overall, I would recommend this service.

Dr Khalid was simply amazing she was so understanding and sympathetic towards my situation and I feel happy that I was able to start living my life as I always wanted to be my authentic self. I am thankful for my Gender Diagnosis by the Gender Clinic...

The waiting time was the shortest I saw, and I had a great experience. I was respected by all members of the team and had all my questions answered.

I had an assessment with Dr Khalid to diagnose gender dysphoria. I felt that Dr Khalid listened to me and was very prompt in writing my report. The whole team at the gender clinic were very helpful, supportive and friendly. They are also very quick in getting back to you. It really made the first step in my medical transition that much easier. I will be going back for a review and if I need any further support in the future.

I had a recent online appointment with Dr. Streeruwitz for a gender dysphoria diagnosis. Dr. Streeruwitz put me at ease immediately and managed to dispel any nerves I had leading up to the appointment. She seemed extremely kind, professional and supportive. I received the written assessment within ten days, as promised, and the whole process was very smooth! Would highly recommend!

These guys really looked after me from the first email to the last. I felt nothing was too much bother, even when I changed my mind or some details, which they updated immediately. Everyone treated me with respect that I came in to contact with.

Everyone was very helpful and understanding. Although they are very busy they get back to you pretty much straight away. I felt understood and listened to.

Found the whole experience online lovely, no stress of traveling from West Wales to London.

Used the Gender Clinic instead of waiting to go to the the NHS London GIC. Anna Streeruwitz was polite and was easy to talk too. I had a session over the internet which was so much less stress than going to speak in person. I would recommend this service.

If you have the money to get your gender healthcare privately then I would recommend Dr Popelyuk. The appointment was £500 and had to wait a month or two for it, but that is obviously a lot faster than the UK's gender identity clinics which are years for a first appointment. Popelyuk was very nice and understanding in the appointment and gave me a diagnosis for gender dysphoria after speaking to my mum about as well.

My experience with TGC has been nothing but pleasant, with very fast responses to my questions and concerns through email, very easy to understand forms and documents, as well as down to earth, well educated and supportive gender psychologists. I'm very glad I went with them.
