Tokopedia have way more reviewers than it's competitor. Makes me trust the seller even more. That is the only reason i stayed at Tokopedia. I use this as daily research for my shopping urges even though i ended up not buying a thing. It's UI is clean, still have pop ups event which i hate so much. Still, i prefer this than shopee/lazada/bukalapak. You just need to read the review and choose either you buy it or not. Avoid any kind of problems since the customer service is a bad.

saya membeli optik kabel berikut konverternya, setelah dikirim dan saya pasang, ternyata konverter tidak bekerja dengan baik, pada saat dicoba suara yang keluar hanya dengungan. saya sudah coba menghubungi penjual, namun penjual selalu mengatakan barangnya tidak rusak, dengan alasan pemasangan yang salah. saya sudah diskusi dengan teknisi samsung, dan jelas bahwa apabila suara mendengung kerusakan ada pada konverter.
Namun tokopedia tidak bertanggung jawab, dengan alasan barang sudah diterima. Jadi hati2 anda belanja di Tokopedia, ternyata hanya Broker yang tidak tanggung jawab, Tidak seperti ONLINE SHOP yang lain

i don't know then bout the others people why they having many problems with tokopedia.
For myself i'm actually moving out from another E-Com to tokopedia, i found the cheapest and the good quality items in tokopedia, but we must SMART ENOUGH to know the seller, read carefully about the items, discussion and obviously RATING! that's very important.
Well what i have to say we must be SMART BUYER not DUMB BUYER!

DO NO BUY from TOKOPEDIA, Go for SHOPEE or BUKALAPAK Better.
Think TWICE if you want to buy things from TOKOPEDIA. Why?
1. They DO NOT PROVIDE any ACTIVE TELPON NUMBER to talk to.
2. They DO NOT ALLOW you to reply your issue your ways IN ANYWAY. The format of the response is PRE-FORMAT to TOKOPEDIA advantage.
3. Their RESPONSE time is outrageously slow…They are good at giving promises in 1 day, 2 days or so but nothing is done.
4. The moment there was a glitch in their system and your money is already received by Tokopedia. Tokopedia will find 1001 excuses TO HOLD your money. Even though you got the proof of transfer from your bank.
I have been with this company for 6 months. And the more I know about this company the scary I become. It is a very problematic company as TOKOPEDIA plays with your adrenaline again and again. There is NO PLEASURE buying from TOKOPEDIA but PRESSURE.
You better go for SHOPEE or BUKALAPAK.
Please NOTE until today I still have not got a return of my transfer from CIMB to the TOKOPEDIA Virtual Account. I bet TOKOPEDIA purposely try to detain the money. …. Hahaha….

Be very careful with this company, they use shipping providers that steal items during shipping and even if you buy insurance they will not do anything, they take your money, you get nothing and their support team make you wait for months then close your complaint without doing anything.
For 2 months they ask you to wait while they ask the thief if they stole from you, of course they get no response, so they close the case. hilarious this company burn billions in marketing and can not do customer support properly.
Quality Control
The shopping experience is mostly fast and easy. But like other reviewers say there are tons of customer protection measures missing. Customer service is pretty helpless. The worst thing is probably that the site is full of counterfeit products. Another issue is that dealing with quality control from Tokopedia's side like obvious copies of another product, especially in crafts and furniture is not well controlled. Tokopedia chooses to take the quick and easy strategy and not ban, otherwise where's the profit. Amazon does it better. Tokopedia acts as a payment intermediator only. Amazon actually ships the products. With Tokopedia the seller always has your address. Overall not as bad as Bukalapak or any of the other outlets but getting there with certain product categories.

Not Secure At All
Came out strong to be one of competitors in online shopping world.
Sadly turns out they are not as good as they would claimed.
They offered the basic secure and quick online shopping like other site.
The thing that made them so bad is: They are not as secured as they claimed to be.
If the consumers get scammed or at least get a damaged goods, the refund will never works.
They don't really care about it and as long as the seller can give a delivery tracking number then they are safe (even if the delivery tracking number is not valid!).
The customer service last resort is saying: Please sort it out with the seller directly.
Then what is the customer service here for???
Very bad experience. Not recommended.
Impossible, literally, to return gain a refund for a damaged product
I have been spoiled, not only by amazon's customer service, but also by Indonesian online stores such as lazada and semarto where, if one has a complaint about a product, return and refund is made so easy and painless. Tokopedia is quite the opposite! I received an electronic gadget that does not work. Because I didn't try it within the 24 hours allowed for a complaint after receiving it, I have had to engage in tweets, chats, and phone calls for more than a week, none of which has resulted in a plan for a return and refund. I don't expect ever to receive the refund, and I certainly don't expect ever to shop at Tokopedia again.

but there's an inconvenience when it comes to buying phone credits and games voucher, it's confusing and hard to acknowledge.
the delivery of each items varied, depends on the seller, and the server is doing a great job in protecting customer's money.
