My experience with Efoldi 1.5
I now have my efoldi 1.5 machine.
Things to know. On a flat surface, it works well. But most pavements are not flat. So be careful where you go. Do not rely on the sus90pension to help. Remember, it is a three wheeler, and prone to tip over on uneven surfaces. It will be ok on grass, but it prefers smooth places. I bought the extension bars for extra control, but you can't fold the efoldi up with them on. Take them off. Also, I bought the comfort cushions. They are good, but again you can't really fold the machine properly. Take them off. So, the extension bars are in the luggage bag, but I really don't want to carry the cushions with me when I go out. (They do have carry handles on them).
So four stars. Could use much better suspension system

The efoldi lite model is unreliable
I have bought and sold a good few 2nd hand eFOLDis and had a few dealings with efoldi which have generally been good. However, they have an issue with one of their products. The 1.5 is good and reliable scooter. Like any scooter parts can break or need a tweak but that's it. The lite model is poor by way of comparison. I know of 4 that have had electrical issues. 3 completely dead. These have been fixed quite cheaply but it hardly inspires confidence in this product. Unfortunately a 2 year old but very lightly used one I owned had an issue when turning left. I fitted a cable supplied free by eFOLDi but it didn't fix the issue. I sent it off to them only to be told it needed a new motor at the cost of £450 (plus £50 return postage)! I raised the issue with efoldi that I didn't think a scooter that was unmarked and obviously only used around dozen times (as I was told when buying it) should need a new motor after so little usage. I suggested I was happy to pay for half the repair but I was told to pay up or accept the broken scooter back. I was surprised and disappointed at their attitude. I will continue to buy and sell the 1.5 model but the lite is just too much of a risk.

A seasoned scooter user
A seasoned scooter user, I bought an efoldi lite prior to holiday as my old scooter was approaching the end of its life. I’d had that around six years with no problems. I collected my efoldi lite on the Friday, had a ride around on Saturday, seemed fine. Arrived on holiday Monday and it broke down whilst out, struggled to get back to holiday cottage as it was making an awful noise coming from the front, stopping continuously. Received a complete replacement two days later. Used periodically since. Yesterday took my efoldi out and rode around a flat grass field so no problems expected. I was metres from the car when it broke down making a nee nor siren sound. Had to have assistance to get to my car. Letting it rest overnight it seems to work today but my confidence with this brand is now somewhere near zero. To have one break down after purchase is unlucky, but two? Was it a blip, was it an intermittent fault, etc. will be taking this back to my distributor tmrw for a full check. I’m disappointed, More importantly, my confidence is knocked. My views on the scooter in general …… it’s very lightweight being it’s biggest plus, I bought the extra cushion as I find the seat height to foot plate a little low, I’m 5’5” so not that tall however, it doesn’t attach to the scooter seat and so does move about a little. The cushion could do with being a little firmer as it’s foam is a little wallowy when riding. It could do with a fastener of some sort a) when removing from scooter as the two handle could easily snap together to make this easier to carry b) stay on scooter. It’s also incredibly sweaty! I have bought a sheepskin to use on the seat for comfort now. When folding and unfolding the scooter I found the following, generally quick to unfold which is positive but when folding down I find the wheel can pop back out of the chamber when I’ve thought it’s clicked in, also , when lifting the folded scooter into my car the seat back is not secure and has flapped open. It needs some sort of fastening, even a Velcro strap. Battery removal is Important for security if leaving as there is no key so easily take. That said it’s not heavy and fits into a bag quite easily. The Manuel does not have a fault finding page which is an oversight. Three wheels can feel a little unsteady mounting dropped kerbs or uneven surfaces, however the efoldi lite is better than some I’ve tried before. I find the tiller rather loose and would prefer that to be more stable when using, no loose nuts or bolts that we could find. I think the tiller cover should come with the scooter as standard, whilst sits not expensive, it’s important to not get the control part wet. You need steady hands/thumb to use the throttle, no tortoise or hare function, just stop to vroom!

eFoldi 1.5 ? I LOVE MINE.
My eFoldi has made me independent again! The Customer Service Team is the BEST I've ever known. Recently contacted them for the first time and found Angela incredibly helpful. Angela has even phoned me twice more just to see how I'm doing and with helpful ideas.
I'm a fat, short (5ft) lady with two terrible knees.
I've been back on my local meadows for the first time in 30 years. I've been miles on the tracks at Rendlesham Forest. SO MUCH FUN.
My eFoldi scares me on cambers which is why I contacted Angela. It's also poor when going up a dry sandy slope. BUT I'D BUY IT AGAIN TOMORROW.
It's the most money I've ever spent on myself. A Savings Plan matured and I spent weeks on Google deciding what to buy. I chose an eFoldi 1.5 and a Dyson Cool Tower. The balance is socked away.
Have a home demonstration. Read the eFoldi group on Facebook. The eFoldi website has videos, as does YouTube. Hope you get one.

I bought my eFoldi in 2020 and I haven't looked back since!! Having MS which limits my walking the eFoldi has given me the freedom and independence I had began to lose.
The eFoldi is really robust, speeds of up to 8mph with long battery life, it is brilliant for on and off road and hills.
The Team at eFoldi are extremely helpful and will do an annual service to keep it in great condition.

efoldi footrest issue
After extensive research I bought an enfolding 1.5. It was just what I needed for my condition. I have since encountered a design flaw, in that the left footrest gets caught on the frame when folded. I did have a lot of trouble unfolding for several weeks until I found this problem.I took it upon my self to remove and shorten the foot rest which has solved the issue. Maybe this should be taken into account for future production. Other than that, I am delighted with it.Your reply below suggests it is the peddle being loose, however it is the peddle in its correct position when folded that is getting jammed in the frame, making it the peddle that is either to long or fixed slightly in the wrong position. There is nothing wrong with the pin although I think they are held in place with a very flimsy little small screw, a bit inadequate for the use it serves. I hope this information is clear enough for you to improve the future products.

Is this the best scooter for shopping…
Is this the best scooter for shopping No but ok
Is this scooter best on the road No but ok
Is this scooter the only one that that is ok shopping is ok on the road ,Will fold up and fit in your car boot.Yes it is the perfect all rounder. My one criticism is going down a slope it will override the motor and will freewheel quickly building up speed and the brake will only just cope.
If you are reasonably competent this a great scooter

Exactly what I need
After an accident long walks are out of the question. I had to give in and agree to a scooter. I wanted something that went in the car, was good for occasional use, shopping, days out etc. I didn't think I would like the foot rests on the actual eFoldi so got the Lite. The Company say it is for even pavement use etc. I appreciated that honesty. It wouldn't be good up and down kerbs or on cobbles. It is perfect for my needs and although I would rather not have to use a scooter, I very happy with the choice I have made.

You need your legs to be working
After a fair amount of practice it becomes easy to fold and unfold. You must be able to lift one leg at least 12" to get on and off it. The foot rests take some getting use to. I found putting your feet off-centre toward the edges helps when turning because your calves go up against the frame. The controls are easy to use. The seat is not very comfortable without a cushion for your back. TIP when lifting wrap a belt or rope around the axle to reduce the distance you have to lift. With these tips and tricks I love this foldi

Really happy with efoldi
Had a very nice man from efoldi to do demonstration and take me for test run with it. This is my birthday present from my wonderful husband and I am a really happy bunny. I can go out again instead of looking at four walls. Thank you so much for all the help.

Practical and fun
I’ve had the machine for 4 days, I have breathing problems after a bout of Covid. It is one of the best purchases I have made in years, it is easy to assemble and fold away, fun to drive and very funky. Thoroughly recommend, I love the way it slides into a cupboard under the stairs - a boon if you’ve no garage and you don’t want the hall blocked.

I absolutely love my efoldi scooter
I absolutely love my efoldi scooter. I took it to Portugal in our camper, I am 77 years old and 4'11" tall(short) and can lift in and out of our camper myself. The roads in Portugal are often cobbled and uneven with few dropped curbs, but I can lift it up high curbs myself. I am not very disabled, but I cannot walk far due to arthritis. It is both pavement and road suitable, with lights indicators, reverse, etc. It is not suitable for severly disabled, and no-one pretended it was. It has given my so much freedom, I carry a spare battery with me to go long distances with my husband on his electric bike and it is fast enough to keep up with him.Great fun.

Here is my experience with the Efoldi scooter
I saw the Efoldi scooter in an advertisement on Facebook and got quite excited. It looked very practical. It looked ideal for my elderly Mum. When I went to Youtube and looked at a video of someone demonstrating it - it became immediately obvious that for the vast majority of disabled people it was not going to be suitable at all.
The leg position is comparable to that of a child's tricycle! Not many disabled people can lift their legs high enough to balance them on a small piece of metal attached to the front wheel! That is after the user has managed to step OVER the central bar.
I raised this with Efoldi in the comments on the advertisement. Other people have also raised similar issues and these are all met with long rambling replies justifying their product. One of their customer service representatives (Melanie) regularly pretends to be a user to counter some negative comments.
They told me that the EFOLDI LITE had a more normal footrest and was perfect for people who can't manage to get their legs up by their ears. Great, I thought. I'll check it out.
Unfortunately, the EFOLDI LITE has had to have ALL of its first production run units RECALLED as they have an intermittent fault. They were sold to customers but are not reliable.
That was it for me. An unreliable scooter would be a potential disaster leaving someone stranded. I decided not to purchase from this company until they have a proven track record.

They take advantage of gullible disabled people
I’m a chronically ill person who was looking for a nice looking scooter to use on pavements in a fairly hilly town. The EFoldi aesthetics is quite pleasing and the battery is just strong enough to manage some slopes. However, once I received the scooter, things got complicated. The manual was not very clear so I tried watching the video tutorials, but the demonstrations were too fast and there were no captions for the hearing impaired. None of their videos have captions and they keep telling me they are working on it. Honestly, how long can it take?
I couldn’t find the charger so had to get in touch via email with customer service.. I managed to fold the scooter out but it was so exhausting, I still haven’t worked out how to fold it back in. I do plan to take it in the car but have not tried it yet, as I am not sure how I’ll manage it as a single person. I’ve driven it to town but I did find it quite difficult to steer at first - the footrest and the steering wheel are in one piece and so you have to be quite adept to keep it under control. It would be of no use to people with poor strength in their hands, and in fact I currently have a wrist problem which makes it a little hard. When you drive, you feel as though it’s going to fall over, but it probably won’t. It’s something to get used to. I also had some issues with loud beeping sounds (reverse and warning) that hurt my ears but I can be mindful of not accidentally turning them on.
There was a free three month insurance policy which I wanted to activate until I’d worked something else out, but it required using the phone. I suffer from Hyperacusis (pain from noise) and so I had to try and sort it via email. Due to confusions on their part, it was a tedious process, as well, and the people I dealt with did their job but were not overly friendly.
On the company’s facebook page, they were advertising a bag and a cushion. The eFoldi seat is very uncomfortable for me because there’s a huge gap between the seat and the back rest, and the distance between the foot rest and the back rest is much too great for a small person like me. When I expressed interest, customer service got in touch with me privately and asked me to send a cheque. I’m Scandinavian so I don’t do cheques. I had to do a tedious bank transfer instead.
On receiving the items, I found the bag fit for purpose but not really worth as much as I had paid for it. The cushion was an Aidept wheel chair cushion which you had to turn the wrong way in order to use in this particular seat. There are strings on both sides for attaching it to a wheelchair but it obviously doesn’t work on the EFoldi because the strings end up on one side only when you turn it the wrong way. The price was vastly inflated as you can get the same cushion for a lot less (almost half) online. I was dismayed as I had imagined the cushion would be made for EFoldi and so I sent it back. The company refuse to refund the shipping costs as they deny there’s anything wrong with the cushion. They also lied to me in an email that accessories for disabled people are not VAT exempt.
I don’t know why they don’t just sell their accessories (other than batteries and chargers) on their website in a normal way. I have learnt never ever to do transactions behind the scenes again like this.
Unfortunately, like so many other people I wanted to trust and believe in this company but they take advantage of disabled people like so many other companies do. This review rating reflects my loss of confidence in their goodwill. I feel very sad because I wanted to love my purchase.

Had their rep meet me at my brother in laws house with a demo scooter to see if he could fix an extension for my leg that wont bend fully he waited patiently while he tried various things when my brother said no problem Kevin helped me buy it but no pressure at all. The scooter is brilliant great for the bus and train as well as the car off to southport by coach soon with my efoldi
Highly recommend.
Really pleased I decided to buy an…EFOLDI
Really pleased I decided to buy an eFOLDI. It is a fantastic mobility scooter and enables me to go out on long trips that I would not be able to otherwise. It is so compact powerful robust & small when folded that it takes up no space in home or car. Thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Fabulous company with an amazing product
Some time ago we saw one of these scooters, looked into it, liked the idea but were nervous about the money involved. Our scooter cost over 3 times what it replaced.
We took a drive and met Sumi for a demonstration that really was very relaxed and no hard sell but we bought one before we left.
Over the time we have had it we have been so impressed with what it can do but also with the company. They really are a family and I have not received better customer service anywhere else.
When we have had problems they have always been at the end of the phone, doing their best to help as quickly as possible. I’m not sure how the other review can blame them for what a delivery company did but from my experience these guys are legendary at helping you out. They treat their customers like family and have every right to be proud of the product they are selling.
We are very proud efoldi owners and would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for something lighter and more portable than any other mobility aids on the market.
