Exceptional service

We needed a low, single bed for my mum, who has Parkinson's, which could also be raised at the head and feet end, and up and down. From the first web chat, through telephone calls, to the engineer visiting, I can say we were blown away by the exceptional service. Would thoroughly recommend.

We visited the showroom and the product was demonstrated in a friendly professional manner with not a trace of sales pressure. We proceeded with the purchase. Delivery and removal of redundant material occurred as promised, excellent company to do business with. Thank you Donna.

Disappointingly my Laybrook bed only…

Laybrook technical team, only from my photographs, are now suggesting misuse, although not very specific. Why did the electric motor case explode? How did the plethora of loose fittings, bent bolts, pulled sunken screwheads and oval shaped drilled holes appear ?
Laybrook initially sent their engineer who, apart from fitting the replacement motor back-to-front, did not recognise that the hand controller was also operating in reverse.
Laybrook seem quite comfortable hiding behind the expired warranty although they should recognise there was a problem. They did offer an unappealing £650 one year guaranteed repair, and I did give a three star rating because for 60% of its use the bed was excellent.

I'm sorry you have felt the need to leave this review. Having looked into your case, my understanding is that the bed was installed in June 2020 and the motor on the bed failed in Oct 2024 and this was replaced under warranty, although there was a question mark at the time as to the cause of the failure and if this should be chargeable or covered by warranty, as it's unusual for the motors to fail in normal operation. I understand that the 3rd party engineer initially fitted this motor the wrong way around, which was remedied within days and confirmed that all was working well. The motor being the wrong way around would not damage the bed.

In July 2025 you contacted us to say that there was an issue with the bed, on investigation the metalwork on the bed was damaged and when this was reviewed by our technical team, from our many years of experience, it was deemed that this failure was not due to the normal operation of the bed and was therefore chargeable, the bed was also outside of its warranty at this time, having been installed over 5 years ago. I believe a quote for the repair work was sent but the work was never completed.

Future proofed my sisters bed

So happy with the whole service from Laybrooks!
Stuart was so helpful from the very beginning and double checked any alterations that we needed could be carried out on our chosen bed. We opted for the high-lo carers mechanism but had to have the frame lowered as my sister’s only 5’ tall. The bed was ready earlier than we expected and delivered in the allocated time slot. It was a bit complicated because it was going to my sisters care home but they acknowledged that and took note of the Managers number so they could liaise directly with her. The delivery men were apparently polite and friendly and made sure the staff knew how to operate the bed. My sister is absolutely delighted with it and keen to show it off to anyone & everyone!

Turning bed...genius

From order to delivery was quick and efficient , although we did pay a little extra for a swifter time scale. The demonstration in the house was a huge help to decide whether it was worth trying the turning bed. The bed came even quicker than was quoted. The mechanism of the bed is incredible and helps my husband , who has Parkinsons, to mobilise in and out of bed perfectly. One small point which was the only minus. The two young men who delivered and assembled the bed were very pleasant but I think they could have used over shoes to avoid marks. I would have thought this would have been part of Laybrooks policy. All in all a positive experience.

LAYBROOK BEDS ⭐ 1 out of 5 – Poor Quality, Poor Service, and No Real Support
We purchased two specialist adjustable beds from Laybrook (Bicester, Oxfordshire) in 2023 after visiting their showroom in person. The sales process was easy — plenty of beds to try and polite staff — but once the beds were delivered and assembled, everything went downhill.
From day one, both beds had serious faults. One bed’s motor burnt out twice, whilst both beds kept on tilting to the one side, making it feel as though you would roll out of bed. The lifting mechanism regularly jammed against the slats. Despite numerous phone calls and engineer visits, nothing was ever properly fixed. One engineer simply sat on the floor, filmed the bed, and left.
After months of chasing, Laybrook’s “solution” was to charge me another £200 to remove the slats, claiming the problem was the slats — completely unacceptable after paying inflated prices for so called specialist equipment designed for disabled users.
Their so-called warranty is riddled with loopholes. If you move the bed to another room, you must pay a large fee to have it dismantled and rebuilt, or your warranty becomes void. Even their measuring service cost extra, and the person who came to measure originally told me the beds wouldn’t fit — yet they did, perfectly. That fee was never refunded despite a complaint.
Laybrook are quick to take your money but slow to fix faults, and they are not covered by any furniture ombudsman or independent regulator, leaving customers with no real comeback.
While they don’t use high-pressure sales tactics like some competitors, the after-sales support is dreadful, and the products are unreliable.
I would not recommend Laybrook to anyone — especially disabled customers who rely on their beds for comfort and safety.

I am sorry you have felt the need to leave this negative review, I can see there is a lot of correspondence between yourself and the customer service team, however having looked into this case, the last notes we have on the system from March 2024, state that we are awaiting on information from yourself and that you would be in touch, but we have never heard anything further from you.

With regards to moving the bed, that is correct, in that the beds must be either moved by us or must be checked by our technician after they have been moved by another party, to ensure that they have been re-assembled correctly and to maintain the status of the warranty.

I would also confirm that Laybrook are a member of the BHTA (British Healthcare Trades Association) and therefore we are governed by strict regulations, including complaints procedures.

perfect beds without fuss

I ordered a brochure with the intent of getting a new bed. All I wanted was a brochure and price list and that was what got supplied. I also asked the same of three other companies all insisted on sending sales persons
Lay brook were most helpful their products met my criteria and were sensibly priced
Hat to change the mattress from firm to soft following delivery and that was dealt with promptly and without fuss.
No hesitation in recommending this company.

Great bed

Great bed. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful. The bed was bought for my mom and everyone has been helpful from the tech error I experienced when ordering the bed online to delivering the bed keeping me informed about the delivery time. The bed is great and my mom's very happy and comfortable. It did take a bit longer to get the bed but it is great and very happy with it.

sleeping at long last

im so pleased with my purchase. i can now finally get some decent sleep. for the first 2 nights there was a strange wood type smell but its now gone. my order went nice and smoothly

A really lovely bed and great service

A really lovely bed, which is the most important thing for me and my disabled husband. It moves quietly and has a great mattress - perfect. It was also very easy to order from Laybrook and I spoke to several very friendly and well-informed people before deciding which bed to buy. They kept me informed of when it would be arriving, too. My only very slight niggle would be with the website which kept offering the chat option every time I changed page.

outstanding

I need a mattress for a small single bed that was suitable for a person with high risk pressure sores. Stuart Hill the Sales manager was extremely knowledgeable and all my questions were answered and I was fully confident it would fit the bed I had. I needed the mattress quickly and Pricilla in customer services made endless phone calls until she found a company to courier the mattress to my part of the country. The mattress arrived two days later. I couldn't be happier - It was a perfect mattress good quality and perfect fit. Thank you both for all your amazing effort.

A great variety of options

A great variety of options, with sales people who want to find you the right bed for your needs.
Easily able to make additions and adjustments to the order and delivery arrangements.
Bought a 2'6" adjustable bed - my sleep has been better since using it (elevated head position).

Lovely lady advised and took my order, delivery was quick and so communicative. Great driver, and very punctual. My elderly mum loves her new hospital bed mattress, so a real win, she is not easy to please!

A perfect company to go with.

Having looked at other companies decided to go with this one as had a better choice in styles of bed. When first contacted them through live chat got the answer straight away and was bput at ease on the removal ot the old bed. When I called to place the order I managed to get the same person as I spoke to on live chat which made the whole process a lot easier as she knoew what I wanted. She explained the whole process and gave time lines and made it so easy and stress free. Thank you Donna. The guys who came to arrange the bed were polite, friendly and pleasant, could not fault them in the way they treated our home. The instructions of how to use the bed, mechanisms and paperwork were explained throughly and was made sure that it was fully understood before they took their leave. Thank you to both of them. A perfect company to go with, will definitely be recommending them to others.

I would like to thank laybrook staff…

I would like to thank laybrook staff and the man who deliverd and fitted our new bed he was amazing and very helpful and the bed is loverly my partner is so pleased he had not been to bed in eight weeks but now can’t weight to go to bed thanks again
