Quick appointment, clean premises, clinicians, nurses reception were all good. Use of kenalog was good as I didn't need to use any eye drops . Results of cataract surgery both eyes were excellent.
I thought the surgery was excellent but I wasn't impressed with the information provided either pre or post operation.....I felt I was treated a bit like a conveyor belt.....not as I would have... Voir plus

Exceptionally caring
Exceptionally caring, polite responsive to questions, concerns etc.
Efficient, pre surgery, and post as to booking, advice and so forth.
The surgery has provided me with a new lease of life. Quite unbelievable not to have glasses and to be able see how things looked to me when i was a child, for that is what you get! And I have had only one eye done. The other awaits.

Highly recommend
James Ball was absolutely fabulous.
He explained everything so clearly prior to the procedure.
The whole team were great.
The only problem I found, was the long wait at my initial assessment appointment. I wasn’t informed of this delay on arrival and had to ask twice how long I would need it o wait.

On Feb 23rd and Mar 23rd 2026 I had cataract surgery on my both eyes, as a NHS referral.From start to finish the experience was very professional but with a real human touch. From the receptionist, nurses to the surgeon a real example of how to make patients feel at ease, everything explained at each stage with all questions answered clearly and professionally.

Cataract surgery
I had cataracts in both eyes that needed replacing. I also had astigmatism in both eyes. After careful research I chose Optegra eye care based at Bowcliffe Hall.
I am now in the happy position to recommend Optegra, having had the surgery to replace both lenses. The whole team at Optegra could not have been more helpful. Answering all my questions of which there were many. I must mention my surgeon James Ball. He was fantastic. Very personable. Explained the procedure before the surgery. Then during the surgery he talked me through the process putting me at ease. I am so pleased I had the operation . I now have 20/20 vision.

A very good experience
Quick appointment for cataract surgery despite having to rearrange date due to illness. Seen on time on my three trips there. Pleasant and efficient staff. Overall a very good experience and a good outcome for my sight.

Cataract surgery made easier
Initially there were some hiccups trying to book an appointment using the computer but, once the appointment was made, staff on site were helpful, friendly and efficient at both the pre-surgery tests and on the days of surgery.
Would recommend the Optegra clinic for surgery in a clean, relaxed environment staffed by professionals.
