Wish I never went near
Would not give any portion of a star, callous nurses, communication skill zero, staff just fulfilling NHS contract basics. Consultant, anaesthetist and theatre staff, zero communication. Made to walk to theatre in a skimpy, undignified gown and a pair of paper knickers, barefoot. Essential lifesaving medecine withdrawn for 10 days, They must be delighted I didn’t have a stroke. AVOID. Don’t rely on that promised phone by the bed, they will wake you from over sedation, stuff a meal down you, you won’t get access to any promises phone by the bed. You will try to contact your loved one, from a mobile that is locked away, at first, while worrying what strength of anaesthetic they administered. Not being able to feel anything from waist to toes. Out for at least two hours by a so-called sedative. None of them explain, none on them help, the only way to contact anyone is by internet, via a log on password that is at the bottom of the bed. Great when you haven’t been told you are numb from the belly button down, and you couldn’t reach anywhere near the bottom of the bed to access details. Avoid this place, no member of staff will even see you need help, the overnight experience is unbearable, so noisy. no chance of any rest, lights dimmed, nurses ignoring patients who clearly need treatment and more noise than a Las Vegas Casino ( from the staff). NEVER AGAIN, I am still limping and in pain, more than three months on. Would trust the local vet more. Edward Whalley

My whole experience has been fantastic
My whole experience has been fantastic, from being greeted at the door to being taken for x-rays and then to see the consultant. The whole process was explained from the beginning and the customer service is the best I have received in years. Highly recommend this hospital. The advisor that greeted me Jo is fantastic at her job.

Further to my previous post
Further to my previous post. I had my eye surgery on 27th January. From the moment I arrived the Reception Staff greeted with a kindly welcoming smile and greeting. All the nurses and the Consultant who performed the surgery were excellent and took time to explain everything that was about to happen. The surgery went ahead and was totally pain free. I have now returned home but after two days I am noticing a difference in my sight in the operated eye. A massive thanks to each and evert one I met during my time at the Hospital. I have nothing but praise for the dedication of the staff at the Hospital. They treat you with kindness and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble.

Croft Shifa Eye Care
My mother is 94 with dementia and went to Croft Shifa in Rochdale as she has been suffering with Wet Macula Degeneration. Her treatment is complete and is ready to be signed off. The staff have been really helpful and attentive and their effort is first class .Unfortunately the software for the machine to check her eyes for the last 2 appointments has not been working, we now have to wait another 6 weeks for sign off. Can we ensure the IT infrastructure can effectively support the patients and the NHS get value for money
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!
I am a Blue Badge holder who has a forthcoming appointment at this hospital.
On 14th October '25 I sent a request, via their link, for information regarding clarification concerning the availability of disabled parking spaces.
I received their acknowledgment of them receiving my query on the same day - their email included much advertising propaganda for their private services, yet they still have not, as of 22nd Jan '25, found the time to respond to my simple query!
This indicates a complete lack of control over their admin services & does not bode well for control of their medical treatment!
Subsequently advised to simply call the hospital for assistance, but this is easier said than done as their switched is closed at weekends, when I did try to call!!!!!!

Brutal knee examination ...
I paid for a private knee assessment in August 2024 at Shepton Mallet hospital. I received a brutal seated test by a surgeon. This should have been a supine test. I shouted in pain for him to stop. For the next 3 weeks i was in severe pain and on really strong painkillers. My GP sent me for Xrays to ensure there were no bone breakages. This surgeon and the CEO are implying that my pain was due to hip pain. I had never consulted my GP for hip pain. This surgeon is brusque, uncommunicative and mendacious. The CEO takes 4-6 weeks to reply to one letter. Her "complaint resolution" is to amend their chaperone policy. She has taken no notice of my pain nor my consequential losses as i was housebound for so long after attending. I am still not as mobile as i was 4 months later........ Appalling negligent assessment (the surgeon refused to read my clinical history) and now i am receiving an appalling and uncaring complaint resolution. The CEO of Practice Plus has still not replied to my request to Escalate my complaint to the 2nd tier... Dont use them........UPDATE They have now responded to me with regards to my Stage 2 Tier complaint... but have blocked me from their FB group for telling the truth about their behaviour towards me......... I find it interesting that Practice Plus Group does not challenge Trustpilot with regards to reviewers including personal information, such as doctors' names, when reviewers leave good reviews.....

My experience
Just had keyhole surgery on my knee at Emerson Green Hospital, Bristol and I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and professional the staff were. I arrived at 7am and was home by 1pm and everyone who dealt with me in that time were nothing short of exceptional. Oh and the most important bit ..the surgery went really well 😁👍

So many nice people on a small space.
Fantastic staff, professional, attentive with a good ratio to patients. explaining all elements of surgery in easily understandable language. Quickly establish rapport where nothing is too much trouble. Hospital is clean and well presented and all wards flow logically to enhance the overall experience

Excellent so far.
I recently saw an Orthopaedics Consultant regarding a Hip Replacement at PP Group St Marys, Portsmouth. While parking was a problem, my appointment was exactly on time and helpful. I have a subsequent appointment with PP Group, Southampton in January.
It would be helpful if reviewers were required to specify clearly where their treatment took place. Several bad reviews fail to do this and it is surprising that Trustpilot has not rectified this.

You've heard of the house of horrors..
You've heard of the house of horrors... let me introduce you to the Hospital of horrors!!! I've been left completely traumatised by this medical supplier, after a Total Knee Replacement MAJOR surgery, I was left in absolute agony with no pain relief as they'd recorded my allergies wrong! Begging for help I was laughed at that my claims of pain could not be accurate and they refused to get the doctor who was working that evening as she was sleeping!!! I needed the toilet was given a cardboard box, supposedly some kind of bed pan and left to get on with it on my own (hover over this thing), and handed 2 pieces of loo roll direct from a nurses hand from the toilet, no gloves, no offer of wet wipes... nothing. In the evening needed the toilet ended up getting myself up as noone came, used a zimmer to get to the toilet, no toilet roll, but a 'nurse' questionable, just barged in on me mid flow, I asked for toilet paper and was told bluntly 'there isn't any'! This is just one small extract of this Hospital of Horrors... the quality care commission will be contacted, along with my legal team. There are errors and there are accidents, but there is also MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE, I have been left traumatised completely. Staff unclean, unkempt, no name badges, nurses, or who claim to be nurses making decisions on prescribing medication, pharmacists who don't know the difference between chemicals and medicines, and a resident doctor who can't speak or read English, and nurses who are nothing more than community care assistants forging and manipulating medical records when they've been negligent to hide the truth... it is all negligence. Appalling, disgusting facility that needs closing down!
RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY... no-one is managing or dealing with anything. The only worthy senior individuals in this facility relating to me is the 2 surgeons. You have staff with limited English language and supposed doctors with the inability to understand basic medicine and care. Don't make bold statements you are managing this when head office refuse help and communication, and you expect me to go to the very place that's caused me PTSD and complete trauma!!!!

Worst service we have ever experienced …
Worst service we have ever experienced in Dunedin. Waited nearly an hour for food after ordering with no updates on delays, had to ask twice when food was due. Extremely unfriendly staff, never asked us for drinks refills when clearly it glasses were empty.

Practice Plus Southampton
Practice Plus Southampton. Appointment was quick, consultant delightful. Trying to get x-rays/results of x-rays for my GP proved an impossibility and I gave up to be honest, this meant I had to have a second lot of X-rays on the NHS. This was unnecessary expense to the nhs & personally unnecessary for my own health. I’m not sure I’d use them again.

Exceptional!
I had a TKR three months ago. From the preliminary appointments to pre and post surgery every member of the team was so welcoming, friendly, and comforting making what could have been a traumatic experience, oddly pleasant!
Also I have recovered much faster than friends who had surgery elsewhere. I’m now walking 5 miles most days.
I highly recommend Shepton Mallet Hospital
and Mr Kink is an exceptional surgeon!

TKR Replacement
3 Months ago I had a TKR. From the initial phone call I had a consultation within 2weeks and surgery within a month. Private patients need no referral.
Everything went to plan with one overnight stay. I was well looked after in a room for two people. I can't find fault with any of this. After that it's very important to follow the physiotherapy guidance. The more effort you make the
better the outcomes but don't rush
things. Follow up appointments included a consultation and several for physiotherapy therapy. 3 months in now and hitting the gym to get strength and fitness back. (Mark age 66).

Shambolic scan result is in.
Sent back to practice plus today . That I have had the scan for the operation that they did for me a few months ago . The NHS Consultant told me he would send the report back to my Doctor .
Ha showed me on the screen that the Hernia was still present and further surgery would be needed . As promised I will put the full report on this page when I have it from the doctor. Practice plus only care about profit over patients health as I have waited 9 weeks to get a scan on the NHS as they refused to pay for a scan local to where I live . Please please donot use thier services just look at all the reviews on Trust point and other sites . I paid privately as they were the cheapest what’s the old saying buy cheap pay twice . The NHS use this company as they are the cheapest in their field . I’ve asked practice plus to allow me to put their letter to me on this site ( private and confidential) still waiting their authority I wouldn’t hold my breath. Awaiting a phone call from the Managing director to discuss my absolute diabolical service I Received by them .again I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I’ve had the result of the scan from the NHS I note the patient has a recent right inguinal hernia repair. At the medial margin of the hernia approximate at the level of superficial inguinal ring.
There is a recurrent hernia containing omentum .
The hernia is reducible and becomes prominent on doing the valsalva manoeuvre.
