Preloved Avis 52

I have sold things on this site previously, and didn't think it was bad.
Admittedly I haven't used it for a while but my god it's absolutely appalling now.
Relentless interruptions from ads, small video screen in bottom left hand corner constantly popping up with more ads, because of all the messy un-user friendly nonsense the site constantly freezes and glitches, it is now completely unusable.
Account closed, advertising elsewhere 🙄

We were selling a Mother of the Bride dress but responses were from very clever low life scammers using Royal mail and wanting over detailed banking details.
Don't use this site.

What a terrible site..whoever designed this needs to stop..it is appalling..trying to scam money by upgrades..unbelievable and amateur..grow up peasant

Its the worst site I was using so far. I wanted to sell kittens, I attached picture of mother with her litter to the advert, and every time Im making changes to it the preloved admins keep emailing me about sending picture, it got me so frustrated because I paid for the advert and it takes them days to republish it! Plus Im on preloved for years and never got a single enquiry!

I deleted account . I had account for yrs but 2 weeks plus I was still waiting for advert to be published. I messaged them and no reply so won't be using again. It's gone very much down hill.

What is wrong with 3D Secure Step-up Authentification as required under PSD2 regulations? My bank confirmed that Preloved turned down my request for an upgrade from Free membership to the next level £6 for 12 months because of this.

I want to email seller about his free trainers to find out if they are for free and he will send them for free and to see if meant to put them for free as I have feel you have pay for them and for the post too. When I went email him you HAVE to upgraded to email the seller and for full 1 year it £6 and for
premium £15 for 1 year
Business £20 for 1 year
Business unlimited £45 for 1 year
And it is a lot of money to upgrade and most people DO COME TO THESE STE TO SAVE MONEY so it IS just mad that you have to upgrading to email the seller but most people cannot afford things like this as most people are renting now days as things are to high in price as no one can afford to buy a house how days and that why people come to theses sites to stay cheap.
So I am going close my account with Preloved because of the they work and etc.

Takes so long for your advert to be published, everytime I advertise I have to contact them 2 or 3 times before they publish my advert. Every other site is instant so why can't preloved be the same. Don't know why they can't be the same as the other selling sites it's like they are stuck in the 90's it's now time you caught up and speed your site to match everyone else.

Shady scammers - Somehow ended up on their text mailing list without ever signing up. Some shady buying and selling of data going on here - no I won't click the link to opt out as I NEVER opted in!!!

Used them for years with no problems. However they automatically renewed a subscription I know damn well I didn't sign up for. Now it seems it's impossible to cancel online. Had to mail them.

I've been with them since 2021. I've listed about 8 or 9 items in that time and never sold anything on there. Always eventually sold elsewhere.

I just haven't seen anything positive to recommend.

I think it's clear from all the reviews on this site shows that preloved site targets individuals asking them to upgrade to business class even though all the subscriptions say that you can advertise as much as you want. I've used this site for a long time and all I've had is problems. Everytime I've posted theyve taken days to activate it. I uploaded one advert it went live then i changed one detail on the title because it said ho instead of home they asked me to upgrade to business. If that was the case why did they activate in the first place!! Not happy with this site always gave me stress not just this time but so many times. I've spoken to other members and theyve posted as much as theyve wanted and never had a problem. So disappointing.

I wouldn't even recommend this shambles of a site 1 star. I give 0 stars. Useless company that when they do reply clearly read off 'given responses' and have zero knowledge about the sale of animals. This review is from a breeders prospective.... although charges to see an add are just as crazy. I am a 5* licensed breeder and have had to jump through so many hoops in order to reach the highest level. You have to hold at least 1 level 3 in animal care. You have to have independent vets come to your home and have the local council view your property on several occasions. You have to have the correct paperwork. You have to also pay upfront a fee of £400 plus to become licenced. You may not even be awared a licence and you don't see that money returned. Thankfully that never happened. However, I've paid out £400 already and had vigorous checks by the governing bodies. I pay out for stud fees and ensure the female dog (because the review won't allow me to use the correct term for a female dog 🤯) and puppies want for nothing. Before breeding i have to ensure all health checks are carried out which is not cheap. But it shows my level of competence and knowledge in raising healthy, in house raised puppies. I have 2 at a push 3 litters a year and I've done everything by the book. Yet this money grabbing company along with other online sites are penalising the licenced breeders whilst inadvertently allowing the rogue breeders to advertise for £6 a year whilst charging £20 a month to the licenced breeders. We have already paid our fees to prove our worthiness. All these sites do is make it easy for backyard breeders to advertise shady litters for £6 per year! No wonder why so many shady people don't bother getting a licence. What's the point if we are penalised for it? I'm not talking about the odd litter here and there by someone that also raises their litters like a licenced breeder, I'm talking about the shady backyarders whom really have NO care for animal welfare (bit like preloved). I've suggested to them that they charge a much larger fee for unlicensed breeders which would either encourage people to be a licenced breeder or discourage dodgy breeders if they have to pay out loads to advertise. Their adverts are also not highlighted. This method will have a much more positive effect on the quick buck mentality breeders (greeders) as they want to spend as little as possible. And then to reward those that are actually responsible breeders and already barely break even due to the dogs being of high quality and tested etc etc paying a yearly fee of say £20 and can freely advertise their litter/s and have them highlighted at no charge, as they have paid their yearly fee. This would than make the movement to better breeding and minimising backyard breeders. I mentioned this to my council whom completely agreed and said sites like preloved, Gumtree etc are encouraging dodgy breeders by not giving higher prices to advertise. If they all did this movement then it would be interesting to see the amount of dodgy breeders suddenly decline. I feel more checks should also be done to prove identity as anyone can can make up a name and email address. If these shoddy companies really want to make a difference to animal welfare then take on board what I've said and make the changes. Also stop people selling dogs under 6 months old as its Lucy's law not to and the breeder must take the puppy back. Again this will never stop unless sites get on board with councils and licenced breeders to stamp this out. So avoid the site at all costs (pun unintended). It's an insult that no checks are done on these back yard greeders that can advertise under many differing names for £6 a year but if you have a licence, checks and have two litters a year you have to pay as a business at £20 per month. Time to sort it out.

Check your bank account if you have ever used this site before. They continue to take annual payments from you without letting you know. Also, trying to cancel this 'subsciption', which I never signed up to in the first place, is not easy.

I went on preloved tonight to search the adverts. I found what I was looking for, but when I tried to contact the seller, I was informed I had to pay £6.00 unless the advert was over 12 days old! I'm wondering if people paying for adverts on preloved are aware that potential buyers he to pay a fee. I'm not willing to pay. The good news though, what I'm looking for is 10 days old now - so hopefully I won't have too long to wait. Absolute madness - everyone just seems to want to suck money out of people at every turn!!

Why when you do an advert does it takes days and days to approve the advert. It is so frustrating. Is it just 1 old lady running this site? Seems like it. Waste of time

What a terrible company.
Unsubscribing from emails is the most complicated and enduring process I have ever encountered but I believe they have designed this system so most people will give up trying.
My advice! Stay away.
I am now going to contact trading standards.

DONT EVEN BOTHER THEY ARE A LOAD OF RUDE SCAMMERS. WILL LIE AND TRY TO JUSTIFY MAKING YOU PAY FOR £25 MONTHLY FEES. NO ONE EVEN REPLIES AND WHEN THEY DO THEY ARE SCAMMERS! STAFF ARE AWFUL DONT COMPLY WITH LAW. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
