Staff and surgeon brilliant very helpful and friendly highly recommended

This was my second op this time my right eye. The experience was as good as the first, all the staff were informative and reassuring, I highly recommend Spamedic the process is not as daunting as you might think made easier by the staff.

I recently had a cataract operation at SpaMedica Croydon. The assessment was fine and the reception and nursing staff very nice and helpful. However, on the day of the operation, after being given pellets to dilate my pupil, myself and two other people were left for one and a half hours with nothing to do and no checks made. No water available in the room and, yes, we could have gone to reception but didn’t know when we would be called. Consequently, my pupil was not fully dilated and the procedure was painful. I knew the eye had to be irrigated during the procedure as this was my second operation. There was so much water running down my face and the back of my neck that my hair was soaked. The surgeon was not very communicative and there was no reassurance during the procedure. When completed, he walked away and although I said thank you, he completely ignored me. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this company to anyone.

All good so far.( one eye done a few hours ago:).... The surgery was pretty quick and painless.. I would recommend...

Everything was explained to me after my first assessment and I was given a booklet which gave details of the procedure and aftercare. I was looked after at each stage of the preparation and actual operation and afterwards was given a supply of eye drops and a chart to fill in so that I would not miss any.

The total experience was first class and free from any anxiety, that one would expect from such a procedure.
I congratulate the staff in general but thank the surgeon for his care and professional treatment.

I had my cataract operation at Spa Medica in Bolton this week. All the staff were really friendly, helpful and caring. They explained everything that was going to be done. During my procedure, the surgeon explained every stage and spoke in a calm manor as he went on to complete the operation. After the operation I was taken into a room with one of the nurses who gave me a coffee as she told me what to expect during my recovery and was given drops to use over the next 3 weeks. I can't believe how my eyesight has improved! I can't thank them enough for the whole experience. I recommend Spa Medica and would happily go back for my cataract operation on my other eye when it is time to be done.

Right from the beginning everything that would happen was explained. The booklet was extremely useful and informative, the staff were very helpful, kind and thoughtful. I went to Oldham and parking was a bit of a problem but I cannot praise the hospital staff enough for doing such a great job on my eye.

Arrived at 10am for my appointment, I had quite a wait this I was told was to give my eyes time to dilate. Eventually was called in to see the nurse and was given some more numbing drops...I then went into surgery 10 mins later. And was given some more numbing eyedrops..and was told to lie on the operating bed. the surgery took place and it was done very professionally, there was some whirling going on. I can say I was slightly nervous. But the team explained what they were doing all the way through the operation. I am a very happy patient.

The staff were very friendly and the communication with me was excellent. Made me feel very wellcome and have a very good overall experience.The Surgeon was Top Class and made me feel well at ease during the procedure, which was very quick and painless, it only took around 7 minutes. The nurse even made me a cup of coffee to settle my nerves after the Op. You cant get better service than that certainly not in Derby Royale.
My thanks go to all the team you are all brilliant. I can highly recommend.

Had my left eye done at Spamedica Birmingham 4 weeks ago and am having my post op at my opticians next week. Couldn't fault any of the staff who were all informative, professional and helpful. I am hoping I do not have to wait too long however before my right eye is done as my eyes are not in sync with each other now as I was very short sighted in both eyes before and now only in my right eye which is causing extreme disorientation. I have tried removing the left lens from my glasses but that makes it even worse

Was reassured through the whole process from reception to discharge nurse. My consultant and theatre nurses were friendly and explained what would happen throughout and I was made very comfortable. The surgery was painless and quick. The discharge nurse gave clear guidelines for my recovery and I felt in very safe hands throughout. I have no concerns whatsoever about having my second eye treated.

My mum had cataract removal surgery at the SpaMedica clinic on St Catherine's Hospital in Wirral 2 years ago. She had to return to have more laser surgery and she was given an assessment appointment really quickly. Staff were amazing. We got a cancellation appointment for her and attended the Chester clinic. From the receptionist to the nurses and optometrist, all of the staff were professional and made her feel comfortable. I couldn't recommend SpaMedica enough. Thank you!
