Progress report on my cataract surgery.

This has been a RESOUNDING success!

Both operations were completed in just TWELVE MINUTES, and on each occasion, it was like taking part in an episode of "Star Trek" - ZERO sensation during the operations, apart from a VERY slight pressure sensation when the new lenses were inserted. Vision returned at what seemed like record time, and now that I have proper vision in both eyes, everything is so VIVID ... colours blaze with renewed contrast and intensity, details I never noticed before pop out before me, I can read number plates at a distance, and it's as if I'm viewing the world in IMAX Cinemascope widescreen with an utterly LUMINOUS Technicolor palette!

I'd give the surgical team 100/10 for what was a STUNNING and wonderfully educational experience. Quite simply, this is what we can achieve as a species when we put our minds to it.

I have had a miserable experience with this company. Insufficient information on what to do about glasses for after the procedure. Insufficient information on the actual procedure process . No information on the make of the lens inserted. It is like a production line . With the surgeon just hurrying through the list. No personal communication or care. People just walking in and out of rooms with no explanation as you are examined. My procedure was ghastly and I still have discomfort and vision problems 3 months later, and will now need another op. So no I would not recommend.

Went for a pre-op for laser eye treatment. They were very well organised and efficient. I have no qualms about my upcoming treatment.

Spa medica Birmingham did both my eyes. The operation is painless takes about 15-20 mins. The staff are all brilliant, treat you lovely. The results are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE I can see so clearly. I would highly recommend. If you are thinking about getting it done. Go for it.

I attended SpaMedica at St Caths in Birkenhead, Wirral yesterday for a cataract procedure. From arrival, the relaxed environment, the care and comforting way I was treated throughout the prep, removal procedure/new lens and aftercare was amazing. Thank you so much to the surgeon and the whole team for giving me normal vision for the first time in my life. I’m 67!

The service was excellent

Transport was fab. The communication was a major issue there wasn't any. I was seen by the nurse given drops and a pelet then 1 1/2 hours wait no communication why the long wait. I used the call bell I was informed the appointments were a guide and you would be there 2-3hours. They wouldn't see my side all i wanted was to be told the length of wait. I was seen by another nurse straight away for more drops and the surgeon to wait 30mins. I realise there are waits but there was no explanation or Information that they were running late. Got talking to surgeon and said about the lack of communication he got a nurse to go and tell the waiting room. The other on the Transport were waiting over1 1/2hours for me they were in ther80s it not acceptable to have them waiting so long. No one offered a coffee asked if we were ok this is unacceptable the NHS cataract puts you toshame

Very helpful and wecoming staff at all stages of what could be an uneasy experience. Lack of information about length of wait times during treatment a drawback and easily remedied. Great welcome and final briefing

Spotless premises with extremely well organised staff who were caring and helpful. Made my overall experience excellent.

Having recently had my first cataract surgery I would highly recommend SpaMedica.Everyone was friendly and a big thank you to the surgeon and her team as I have had no problems at all in this first week of recovery and the difference it has made to my sight is fantastic.I am now looking forward to having my other eye surgery.

I had cataract surgery on my right eye on the 21st September and the whole experience was excellent. I was only in for around an hour and a half, and the actual surgery itself took less than five minutes.

The staff looked after me so well from start to finish, and I left with everything I needed, including my eye drops and clear instructions. I felt completely reassured throughout the visit.

I’m very pleased with how the operation went and really appreciate the care and professionalism shown by everyone involved.

Actual surgery date was quite a long time from tge assessment. Once admitted for surgery, it was a reasonably fast experience. Friendly staff/ nurses make the experience better. The waiting is nervous making but I understand the need for the eye drops to work. I was surprised by the speed and efficiency of the surgeon. Some discomfort but no pain. A very good experience throughout. Would happily recommend SpaMedica.

Fantastic service.
I was really nervous but the surgeon and the staff made me feel relaxed before my cataract procedure.
They talked me through the procedure and made me feel comfortable.
The appointment time was early and I was seen on time.

The markers I use to consolidate my expectations of any business that I USE THEIR SERVICES FOR ARE: TREATMENT FROM THE INITIAL CONTACT- The desk staff. The Nurses, the assessment team, the information both oral and written, the Duty of Care, the overall Professional attitude of all and expertise of the Surgery Team. Although I haven’t had the After Surgery Assessment yet. I feel confident that it will be just as excellent as previously. Thanks SpaMedica.

SpaMedica performed a cataract operation on my right eye and the results are amazing! My eyesight has improved significantly. The operation was quick and painless.The staff are so friendly and professional. I can’t wait to have my left eye done.

Had cataracts surgery on Thursday 1st October at spamedics Rathbone road Liverpool excellent staff doctors and nurses very friendly put you at ease very professional and caring I was really nervous but couldnt believe how quick it took I couldn’t fault anything at this hospital very happy

A very poor experience from SpaMedica in Chelmsford Essex.
From the initial appointment transferring from NHS to Freedom Vision I was disappointed from start to date- 3 months post surgery and my vision is still not satisfactory despite a cost of £8,400 for new lenses for a cataract condition. Poor communication, lengthy waiting times and excuses. Despite being a paying private patient I was treated no differently to the NHS patients whom I sat with awaiting hours for treatment. I would NOT recommend!

It was a great experience at the Blackpool branch. All the staff were knowledgable, friendly and caring. The experience from the original assessment to actually having the procedure was 5-star.
