The installation team of Simon L and Lawrence were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They set to to firstly remove my old bed prior to installing my lovely new bed. They were efficient, working well together and explaining how the bed worked. I found the experience enjoyable and looked forward to using my gorgeous new bed. Both men were very polite and well mannered throughout.

Order and delivery of adjustable bed
From the first meeting with rep and subsequent delivery of adjustable bed I was very impressed with speed and delivery.both the rep Lee and delivery driver Simon were extremely helpful. I was phoned day before delivery and given approx time and they were here within that time frame despite negotiating the dreaded M25.

Following Cancer treatment and radical surgery I need to sleep in an almost sitting position and sought to purchase an appropriate electric bed.
I was initially impressed by the very kind and apparently caring response from most of the staff of the company but my experience over the last number of months has left me feeling that I am the victim of mis-selling. I no longer have any expectation of meaningful redress from the The Adjustable Bed Factory/ Recliner Factory as my very detailed written concerns were met with a lot of kindly platitudes. I then asked for a copy of the Complaints Policy which they failed to send.
My main concern now is to highlight the very real potential for exploitation of people who are experiencing vulnerability through advanced age or disability. The questionable practices I experienced included-
On first enquiring I was not given any indication of price.
A lengthy sales visit to my home was conducted by an apparently kindly and very plausible man. He was very convincing. However he neglected to give any details of the Terms and Conditions of Sale or Warranties and he got me to sign a blank screen which I thought to be the confirmation of my order. I later discovered it was also a declaration that I had received a demonstration of the bed together with a copy of the Terms and Conditions, which I had not.
The sales pitch gave the impression that the motor in the bed is almost indestructible. I later learned that the Warranty is only for 3 years and 1 year on the mattress.
The description of the after sales follow up on any problems was very reassuring. It implied a long lasting and comprehensive service but neglected to mention that outside warranty, there would be undisclosed costs to this, for which the Company presumably has a monopoly.
The right to cancel an order does not apply to any bespoke bed but this was not explained by the salesman. He offered me a choice of bed height. I found out afterwards that this made my order "bespoke" as any adjustment, no matter how small, renders the order specific to the customer.
When the bed arrived it was too short and raising the head of the bed pushed my feet out over the end. As I am 5'6" this meant that my new bed was not fit for purpose. On raising this with the area manager and providing photos, I was told that I would urgently (within approx. 2 weeks) receive a new bed of greater length.
However I experienced more than 6 weeks of great discomfort in a short bed, delays being partly said to be due to insufficient fabric. I could have chosen a different fabric for a new bed but in the end, I was only given new bed sides and a longer mattress.
The installation of these adjustments took as long as that of the original bed, as the new sides had to be significantly adjusted by the installer.
I have a number of other issues about my experience of this purchase which I feel was mis-sold and certainly does not feel like value for money, in spite of it being described as half price. I have also raised these with the Company.
The staff mainly come across as warm and helpful and indeed it appears that many of the positive reviews praise the experience of delivery and installation. However my main concern is to alert others to the potential for exploitation and suggest you read the 1 star reviews and the company’s responses.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed, leg rest collapsed, sounded as though something broke. Phone call to company engineer who diagnosed broken motor, although remote control was not being used at the time. Purchased less than 4 years ago at a cost of over £2000. Call-out charge £128.40 (live only 12 miles from factory) and potentially another £200/£300 for new motor. That cost cannot be justified, and I can't afford it, but my legs have to be elevated.

I found the experience really good as…
I found the experience really good as when Richard arrived he took his shoes off and came through and sat down and talked about my needs. I explained that I had bought a second hand bed but it didn't do what I needed it to do i.e. lift the knee bit up. He was very kind and offered to look at the bed for me. He discovered that it had been put together the wrong way around! So he saved me a lot of money! For which I thank him.

Faulty component causing health issues. Not realising there was a fault for many years this company wanted a further £600 plus to replace the issue. What ! Yes exactly £600.
After numerous conversations the customer services wanted to sell me another bed eventually I got in contact with another guy, also of no use, I demanded to speak to someone of authority ending up with the head of customer services offering a reduction of £40. Absolute nonsense, not customer satisfaction orientated.
The head of customer services refused to accept any blame quoting his legal jargon and offered me nothing but spend spend spend, hiding behind Terms & Conditions and Warranties
I wanted to go to the CEO or his manager but he said he couldn’t ??????
I wish I never even heard of this company never mind spending my good money with them.
MATTRESS WARRANTY IS 1 YEAR. A joke
