I ordered a mattress for delivery to the Alps in january 2020. Many promises of delivery but the eventual delivery was for a different size to that ordered. Subsequent attempts to have either a correct delivery to a UK address or a refund have met with the same problems as that encountered by other reviewers, no answer to phone or response to emails. We have sent to small claims court and achieved judgement in our favour. David Hammond runs a fraudulent group of companies under the FORESTEC banner and has a policy of defrauding customers. DO NOT PURCHASE from this man or his companies.

On May 22

On May 22, 2019, I ordered for oaklandfurniturespain.com furniture in the amount of 1459 euros (order number No. 2250) with delivery at the end of July-beginning of August to Portugal. In the summer of 2019, the furniture was not delivered, they said that they forgot about my order. We have agreed for the summer of 2020. But even in the summer of 2020, the furniture was not brought, citing a difficult epidemiological situation. They refuse to return the money. My letters are being returned back. No money, no furniture for 2 years now. Scammers!!!! There is no connection with them. We'll have to go to court

6th August 2020 -
My original order was for a Maiden Oak Bed, but that was apparently damaged and I agreed with David that the second option was to be a Salisbury Oak Bed.

27th August 2020 -
Mattress & bed delivered, however the bed is wrong, an inferior and rather thin Malaga

8th September 2020

Scammers who steal your money

When I contacted them (has David Hammonds Email!) They said they would pass on message! 2 months ago!

Ordered £3000 worth of furniture, August 2020 wrong chairs delivered & 1 item completely missing! Have £800 of our money & don’t respond. They are scammers. Stay away from them.

Ordered 2 beds and 2 mattresses and an…

Ordered 2 beds and 2 mattresses and an oak chest. Was contacted in March by David Hammond requesting my bank details for a refund. This was sent. Absolutely no communication since either via the bank, email or telephone. Something very wrong. Just paid the Small Claims Court to proceed.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY ! THEY ARE SCAMMERS !!!
Placed an order and was given the courteous "Please wait, we're dispatching shortly" several times. Stupid me to believe someone in business at their word. Waiting more than 3 months. Glad I paid with a purchase insured Credit Card.
Watch out for other names used by these dirt bags such as Forest Tec Ltd. I think they write any positive reviews themselves or pay for them. My experience is that only all of the terrible reviews are trustworthy. I am not finished with them yet, just getting started.

Bad indeed

We ordered 6 chairs in September with an advertised delivery time of 4-6 weeks in Portugal. After 8 weeks of no communication about our order, we contacted David Hammond and received information that the delivery was delayed, due to various reasons. Then two weeks no information. Again, we contacted them, same answer. This repeated a few more times, never pro-active information from their side. Then, in early December, David told us the chairs would be on their way the next week.
On contacting them shortly before Christmas, it turned out that the chairs had not been shipped and that there was no estimate possible when they could be delivered, due to the Covid-situation. We then decided to cancel the order completely and requested a full refund. This was confirmed by Nik Preston and he promised to arrange for the refund.
Four weeks and various mails later, no response and, of course, no refund either! I cannot understand why this company has so many positive reviews.

Terrible service

Ordered bedroom furniture 16th February (order #1347) and paid my money in good faith. I was given an estimate of 4 weeks. The furniture arrived piecemeal (28th June, 1st July, and 14th September) with the exception of a wardrobe.

During this period the company would not pick up the phone, respond to emails or give any information about expected delivery times. No customer service at all. You couldn't make this up!

On 30th September I complained using Trustpilot because they wouldn't respond to give me an idea when the outstanding piece would arrive. It took precisely 49 minutes to get back to me. They then cancelled the rest of the order because they couldn't deliver 7 months after order was put in, and offered a refund.

On 1st October I get copied into a mail from the company that said
"I see more nonsense from Lewis is the order of the day. He clearly thinks that he somebody rather important. Condescending i----!!

This demonstrates to me and it should you, their arrogant attitude and the respect they don't have for customers. They thought that a genuine complaint was nonsense. Unreal!!

Even this wouldn't be so bad if David Hammond (Director|) who I have conversed with, had then kept his word and gave me my money back a month ago when he said he would, but he hasn't and does not now want to discuss it seems.

So for me I have to take action. I have already sent information to the EU commissioner for trade as they deliver in the EU, and am writing to the CMA, Trading Standards in the UK, as well as pursuing my money through the courts as this company is well beyond the legal limits for refunds.

The above is factual and irrefutable evidence that you should really consider before buying from these people. They will write back in about 10 minutes to say it was all my fault, and ask me to take this comment down, but believe me it isn't and I wont.

So if you don't believe me look up Luxurybritishbeds on Trustpilot which is the same company and you will see the same comments. I made a terrible decision buying form these people, I recommend you spend your hard earned elsewhere.

Good quality Bed

Fast, friendly, efficient service from start to finish. We are extremely pleased with the bed base and the quality and craftsmanship of the king size mattress. We would definitely recommend this company for a good quality bed and service. Thank you.

I purchased my mattress online from Luxury British Beds, a Forest Tec ltd company, mid-September 2019. It was delivered early October and I have not slept on the mattress since then.

Despite the many glowing reviews for their mattresses, mine is lumpy far too soft in spots with a series of random sort of moguls or pot-holes as the structure. If you sit on the side of the bed, it will not support weight and you will have to move into the Centre. After my second night I contacted Luxury British Beds by e-mail and left a message on the phone number provided. No reply.

I decided to post a review here on Trust Pilot which outlined my dissatisfaction. This review did not include the whole delivery fiasco which took two trips as the delivery man wasn’t aware that I lived in the city Centre of Nice, I do not have designated parking and no, I didn’t have friends to help him carry the mattress. This is no comment on the gentleman who delivered. He was a genuine, kind and very helpful fellow who was simply ill-informed and having to carry these mattresses on his own. I did feel sorry for him. My dissatisfaction was really about the quality of the mattress and no reply to my messages.

Following my review, I was contacted and told that the reason my mattress felt the way it did was due to the support piece I had and that I needed a proper ‘divan’ to support this. British Luxury Beds offered to provide me with such a divan if I would take down my review. This should be considered great customer service, fair , and very much appreciated not as a payment to remove the post. Of course I agreed and that was early December 2019. Unfortunately to date, there has been no divan just a series of occasional responses to my enquiries – “your divan will be delivered “… usually a date the following month.

The offer has lost its glow, their lack of communication and inability to forecast their logistics /deliveries from plant-to-customer is unprofessional, erratic and shameful.
(You might take a look at the Trust Pilot review of a gentleman who ordered some furniture from one of their companies and had a similar promise versus delivery issue. That review I believe is under Luxury British Beds separately for some reason.) I gather that when things go right all is okay but judging from the glowing reviews I see on this site; I am convinced that my mattress is faulty.

Yes, Covid19 put a delay in deliveries, but the continuous promise of random based on nothing delivery dates has been ridiculous.

My last promised delivery date was “early August”. To be clear no dates were put forward unless I made an enquiry. I want my bedroom back and I am tired of sleeping on the sofa. I heard nothing by the 13th of August so sent them an e-mail stating that if they couldn’t deliver this divan by the 23rd of August I wanted out of this arrangement and of course would need to re-post my review. Of course.. no reply.

I will now go out and spend another 1K + on a new mattress, I should have done this 10 months ago if I had realized this goodwill gesture was going to be such a farce.

I'm afraid you are not telling the true picture but that's of no surprise considering the events.

The fact, that was highlighted before is that you placed a high-quality mattress on your old Canadian box spring bed frame of which half of it you had the driver throw out.

We explained this to you that your frame certainly wasn't suitable and would seriously affect the mattress, you flew back to Canada on the agreement you would purchase a divan base to rectify your issue.

On your return, we manufactured the base for you, but you now feel you shouldn't pay for it or it's transport all the way to France -all the way from Yorkshire.

Christine, the error belongs to you, you place high-end luxury mattresses on the correct bases, for instance, a divan base or a suitable framed bed with slats.

You purchased a high-end Natural 3500 mattress that all other customers rave about as per their reviews.

It's manufactured with 3500 individual pocket springs, 100% natural fibres and filled with the finest Yorkshire lambswool, the potholes you talk about are the high-quality tufting of a mattress.

The simple solution was presented to you, place your mattress on a correct base not an old Canadian half- thrown away box spring base.

Unfortunately, bases are not FREE as per your request.

As per your delivery comments, we could not park, you also held up the driver for several hours but we gratefully made a second delivery a week later, returning to France at our cost, and Bruce the driver delivered your mattress successfully to your bedroom and took away the parts of your old box spring bed you wished him to dump. At the time Bruce advised you as well that the bed base was inadequate.

FINALLY, you have threatened this review for several months trying to avoid paying for a base, It has come as no surprise as your "blackmail" attempts of posting this review now come to fruition, for us now it's a shut case and we will allow our customers to read all reviews that are the opposite of yours, ​and hope they understand as we are sure they will that you have to place a quality mattress on a quality base and that bases are not free of charge.

We ordered an oak sideboard. It was delivered today by a really nice guy called Andrew, who was very helpful. He even took all the packaging away. The sideboard is excellent - just what we wanted.

We ordered our Landmark 6000 king-sized…

We ordered our Landmark 6000 king-sized mattress in January 2020 and due to the Covid disruption it was delivered in early June. Bruce the driver was superb, he let us know exactly when he was going to arrive and he helped take the weighty mattress up the stairs and locate it. The mattress is very high quality and very comfortable. It sits on the bedframe very well. A 100% improvement on our previous memory foam over-hot mattress. Would recommend this company highly.

We reside in Cyprus

We reside in Cyprus, we ordered a king size mattress. After 3-4 weeks of sound sleep we then ordered 2 double size mattresses which have just arrived. I Would highly recommend not only the mattress but the quality of service/delivery from start to finish is second to none......

Natural 6000 Sapphire…

We ordered a Natural 6000 Sapphire Mattress for delivery to our new house in Edinburgh, Scotland while still at our previous house in the US. Customer service via telephone and email were both superb. While we struggled with numerous other furnishing companies - not only due to our distance but also COVID-related understaffing -, we had no problem at all with this transaction.
Delivery was timely, friendly and exceptionally professional.
The mattress itself is extraordinary. I have slept on hotel mattresses all over the world and owned mattresses of varied quality: this mattress is better by far than all but one of them and this mattress was less expensive than that one. I suspect it will last much longer, too.
I wish all our consumer goods were of this long-lasting quality: it would be so much better for the environment.

I absolutely love my new bed

I absolutely love my new bed! Like sleeping on clouds!! Everything went extremely smoothly from order to delivery. Delivery by Andrew was perfect, he did a fantastic job installing the bed, making various adjustments to the headboard until I was happy and even took the packaging away with him! I would have not hesitation in recommending Luxury British Beds.

They definitely understand the importance of a personalised customer service.
They were helpful and informative from the outset.
The delivery was exactly when they said.
The mattress was even better than the description on the website.
If you're hesitating about ordering DON'T
You'll not regret it.

Double bed delivery

I had bought a double bed. The bed is utterly fantastic I cant seem to find any beds here in France which match up to the same standard. The service delivered by Andy was utterly exemplar and we cant thank him enough! nothing was too much trouble.

A quality product produced in trying times. Well done!

My order was made on the 30th.May 2020, But a clerical error led to my payment being returned 2 days later.
À chat online the same day with’ Daniel‘ confirmed my order and another invoice was sent to me which was paid the same day.
I heard nothing from the company for about a week, but then received a message from David Hammond (company director) apologising for the delay, thanking me for my patience and confirming that the factory was reopening within days and that my order would be in production soon.
On the 22nd.June I received a message stating that my order was to be dispatched(Thursday 25th.June)
The mattress finally arrived yesterday, on Wednesday 1st.July delivered by GLS. Just over a month after my order.
The mattress arrived shrink wrapped in plastic, 150cm long and 40cm in circumference and quite weighty.
Having wrestled it into the bedroom, the heavy plastic wrapping was removed and out sprang the mattress, the springs in the mattress quickly took the mattress to shape.
The packaging was well up to the task of protecting the mattress which arrived in perfect condition, despite its journey from the U.K. to SWFrance.
The quality of the mattress is commensurate with the company name, Quality, and was worth the wait.
My first nights sleep was comfortable and restful.
The mattress A Nimbus Orthopaedic king size is medium firm and comfortable.
Whilst my mattress took longer than expected, my impression was of a slick organisation which had been hampered by Covid regulation, and a closed factory resulting in the uncharacteristic delay.
The company persevered under trying circumstances and produced a first class product which I have no hesitation in recommending and would order from Luxury British Beds again.
My only negative feedback, hence the 4 star rating is the lack of communication with the progress of my order .
